Tigerwood is named for the uncanny resemblance to the coat of a tiger. Native to Brazil, its appearance consists of deep orange to amber hues with irregularly spaced streaks of dark brown to black. Colour tends to darken with age. Fine, uniform texture with good natural luster, it becomes very rich and intense when finished. Usually in natural color. Very hard, like most Brazilian exotics.
